Everest region is the second most popular trekking region in Nepal and each year this region receives thousands of trekkers and climbers. Once you reach Solu Khumbu, the gateway to Everest, you will be greeted by great stunning views of the Everest and many other highest mountains. The other highlights of this region is the beautiful Sherpa villages and monasteries. For most of the trekkers, the primary goal is the Everest Base Camp which is at an elevation of 5,340m. But you cannot be happy because you cannot see Everest from the base camp. So you are compelled to take another few hours of walk to reach Kalapathar which is at 5,545m high altitude.
